Michele Carroll | Director of Employment

Ms. Carroll graduated with honors from Howard University and also holds a Master’s Degree in Communications Management from Simmons College.  She possesses a broad range of experience in solution based sales, having worked in Business Development for 10 years at Procter & Gamble.  Most recently, Ms. Carroll worked at The Partnership, Inc.  where she managed client relationships for nearly 100 corporate and public sector organizations as well as three premier leadership development programs.   Currently, Ms. Carroll is working to develop a comprehensive Career Readiness and Job Placement program for Match Beyond.

Jerome Daye | Employment coach

Mr. Daye is a Boston native holding a B.A. from the College of the Holy Cross. He joins the Match Beyond team with an array of professional, ministry, and community activism experience. Mr. Daye is passionate about sharing his knowledge with those who want more out of their work experience. He currently helps his local organization, Catalyst IV Change, host Breakfast IV Brothers and strategically impact more communities. Mr. Daye is excited to teach members of Match Beyond how to navigate from job to vocation. 

Tena Fenton | Senior Coach

Ms. Fenton has devoted the last 10 years of her life working with various non-profit agencies, faith based organizations, alliances, gang members, and youth workers to improve the quality of life in the lives of Boston’s youth. Her success is built on her drive, unpretentious personality, intentionally mentoring, and infectiously leading the now generation. Prior to joining Match Beyond, she worked as a Case Manager for Youth Options Unlimited Boston. While there she served, intensively case managed, and advocated for Boston’s high-risk youth population. Ms. Fenton believes that the key to success is resiliency and dedication. She plans to be a vessel that assists in unlocking the ability in the people that she serves.  


Mr. Hill holds a B.A. from UMass Amherst and Masters degrees from Simmons College and Providence College.  He was a founding history teacher at Match High School in 2000 and became Match's first full-time college coach in 2012.  The learning and insights that came from Mr. Hill's work as a college coach underlie the design of Match Beyond. Currently, Mr. Hill supports Match Beyond students on their path to college degrees and quality employment.

Mike larsson | FOUNDER AND president

Mr. Larsson received his B.A. from Boston College in 2004 and was part of Match Corps 1 at Match High School.  After the Corps, he worked as Director of Development at City On A Hill Charter School and Director of the Annual Fund for Boston College High School.  Most recently, Mr. Larsson served as Chief Operating Officer of Match Education.  Along with Mr. Hill, Mr. Larsson created the design for Match Beyond.  Currently, Mr. Larsson oversees all Match Beyond operations.

Mary Leviner | Director of Enrollment

Ms. Leviner graduated from University of Massachusetts Boston with a Bachelor’s Degree. Her professional background is in workforce development and recruitment within non-profits and government. Prior to joining Match Beyond, she worked as a Recruiter in the Office of Governor Charles D. Baker’s Personnel and Administration Department. She is dedicated to advising and supporting people to reach their full potential.

Liz Marino | Chief of Growth and Strategy

Ms. Marino is a graduate of Boston College and also holds a Master’s degree from Pace University. She began her career teaching English to middle school students in the South Bronx through Teach for America. She spent the next decade working for Summer Search Boston to create greater equity in who goes to and graduates from college through mentorship, summer experiences and college support. From 2012-2016 she led Summer Search Boston as Executive Director and significantly expanded the program and impact. Ms. Marino is excited to be working with Match Beyond to grow this innovative program so that many more students from Greater Boston can obtain college degrees and join the workforce. Match Beyond aims to be a model for other organizations across the country who want to do the same.


james normil | Recruitment Manager

Mr. Normil was born in Boston and raised in Cambridge. He graduated from the Year Up program in 2010 with an IT Certification and received the Leadership award upon completing the program. His professional experience includes three years of customer service and sales management, as well as four years as an IT Lab Support Technician at UMass Boston. Prior to joining Match Beyond, Mr. Normil was a College Readiness Advisor at College Bound Dorchester.  Mr. Normil is eager to continue working with youth and aiding them expand their career options and academic status.  

Danny Rivera | Director of coach development and community engagement

Mr. Rivera has over 18 years of experience working with non-profit organizations. Mr. Rivera has spent the majority of his career serving children, youth and families of Boston in many different capacities.  Prior to joining Match Beyond, Mr. Rivera was the Lead Post-Secondary Transition Coach at the Boston Private Industry Council (PIC). During his time there, he provided college and career support to Boston Public School (BPS) graduates transitioning from high school to local two-year colleges in order to increase college retention and completion rates.  Mr. Rivera also played a key role in the implementation of a citywide initiative to improve college persistence and completion outcomes for BPS graduates called the Success Boston College Completion Initiative. 

Adam St. Jean | operations Manager

Mr. St. Jean holds a B.A. from UMass Amherst, where he dual majored in Psychology and Public Health. He began his career in mental health services as a family support trainer and therapeutic mentor. After moving to Boston in 2013, he worked in sales and recruitment at Education First, and later transitioned into the Brookline Public School system as a special education paraprofessional for learning and emotionally impaired students. Mr. St. Jean joined Match Beyond as a part-time coach, and now manages day-to-day operations and student services.
