Michele Carroll | Director of Employment

Michele graduated with honors from Howard University and also holds a Master’s Degree in Communications Management from Simmons College.  She possesses a broad range of experience in solution based sales, having worked in Business Development for 10 years at Procter & Gamble.  Most recently, Michele worked at The Partnership, Inc.  where she managed client relationships for nearly 100 corporate and public sector organizations as well as three premier leadership development programs.  Currently, Michele is working to develop a comprehensive Career Readiness and Job Placement program for Match Beyond.

Jahfree (Jay) Duncan | Director of the B.A. Program and Senior Coach

Jay holds a B.A. from Brandeis University and an M.S. from Tufts University. Since graduating from Brandeis in 2009, Jay has worked in a variety of roles at the Match Charter School in Boston, most recently serving as the Director of Technology. Jay is excited about working in the higher ed space and helping students as they work toward earning a Bachelor’s degree.

Joe Bogle | Academic coach

Joe is a Boston native who holds a B.A. degree in Sociology from Bridgewater State University, and a Master’s degree in Higher Education from Salem State University. With a profound interest in student success, he comes to Match Beyond with experience in working with students at both two and four year colleges. Most recently, Joe worked at Bottom Line as a Success Counselor and looks forward to working with students during their Match Beyond Experience. 

Tena Fenton | Senior Coach

Tena has devoted the last 10 years of her life working with various non-profit agencies, faith based organizations, alliances, gang members, and youth workers to improve the quality of life in the lives of Boston’s youth. Her success is built on her drive, unpretentious personality, intentionally mentoring, and infectiously leading the now generation. Prior to joining Match Beyond, she worked as a Case Manager for Youth Options Unlimited Boston. While there she served, intensively case managed, and advocated for Boston’s high-risk youth population. Tena believes that the key to success is resiliency and dedication. She plans to be a vessel that assists in unlocking the ability in the people that she serves.  

Bob Hill | FOUNDER

Bob was a founding history teacher at Match High School in 2000 and became Match's first full-time college coach in 2012.  The learning and insights that came from Bob's work as a college coach underlie the design of Match Beyond. Bob most recently transitioned into a role at Southern New Hampshire University as Director of Professional Development and Academic Performance for the Refugee Education Initiative. Bob's unprecedented passion and dedication to supporting students as they work toward their education and employment goals remains the framework of Match Beyond.

Mike larsson | FOUNDER AND president

Mike received his B.A. from Boston College in 2004 and was part of Match Corps 1 at Match High School.  After the Corps, he worked as Director of Development at City On A Hill Charter School and Director of the Annual Fund for Boston College High School.  Most recently, Mike served as Chief Operating Officer of Match Education.  Along with Robert Hill, Mike created the design for Match Beyond.  Currently, Mike oversees all Match Beyond operations.

John Lee | employment coach

John holds a B.A. from Boston College and double majored in Communications & History. He began his career at The Partnership Inc., supporting leadership development programs for multicultural executives.  Most recently, John worked at WGBH in business operations for local radio & television production where he also developed and managed the newsroom's internship program.  John is excited to continue his work with students and to help build the career readiness program at Match Beyond.  Outside of work, John is passionate and committed to youth development in his local Boston community and loves almost all things related to sports, food, and the outdoors.

Mary Leviner | Director of Enrollment

Mary graduated from University of Massachusetts Boston with a Bachelor’s Degree. Her professional background is in workforce development and recruitment within non-profits and government. Prior to joining Match Beyond, she worked as a Recruiter in the Office of Governor Charles D. Baker’s Personnel and Administration Department. She is dedicated to advising and supporting people to reach their full potential.

Liz Marino | Chief of Growth and Strategy

Liz is a graduate of Boston College and also holds a Master’s degree from Pace University. She began her career teaching English to middle school students in the South Bronx through Teach for America. From 2012-2016 she led Summer Search Boston as Executive Director and significantly expanded the program and impact. Liz is excited to be working with Match Beyond to grow this innovative program so that many more students from Greater Boston can obtain college degrees and join the workforce. 

Danny Rivera | Director of coach development and community engagement

Danny has over 18 years of experience working with non-profit organizations. He has spent the majority of his career serving children, youth and families of Boston in many different capacities.  Prior to joining Match Beyond, Danny was the Lead Post-Secondary Transition Coach at the Boston Private Industry Council (PIC). During his time there, he provided college and career support to Boston Public School (BPS) graduates transitioning from high school to local two-year colleges in order to increase college retention and completion rates.  Danny also played a key role in the implementation of a citywide initiative to improve college persistence and completion outcomes for BPS graduates called the Success Boston College Completion Initiative. 

Adam St. Jean | operations Manager

Adam holds a B.A. from UMass Amherst in Psychology and Public Health. He began his career in mental health services as a family support trainer and therapeutic mentor. After moving to Boston in 2013, he worked in sales and recruitment at Education First, and later transitioned to Brookline Public School system where he took on various roles in special education for learning and emotionally impaired students. Adam joined Match Beyond as a junior academic coach, and now manages day-to-day operations and administration. 

amanda tassinari | senior coach

Amanda is a graduate of Northeastern University and holds a Master's degree in Education from Johns Hopkins University. She began her career as a teacher in Baltimore through Teach for America. From 2013-2018 she worked as the Career Services Manager at More Than Words in Boston, expanding the college and career pathways for young adults who are in foster care, court-involved, homeless or out of school. Amanda is passionate about higher education reform and is looking forward to supporting students to develop the academic habits and mindsets needed to succeed in college and beyond.
